Charitable seedling donation

It is slowly becoming a tradition that the staff of the Research Group produce 5-15,000 vegetable seedlings for the needy by May of each year. The tradition began in the first year of the coronavirus epidemic, when many families found themselves in a very difficult situation due to the epidemic. The Rector donates the seedlings to aid organizations (Katolikus Karitász, Hungarian Maltese Charity Service), who distribute them among those in need of help. We want to maintain this activity for many years to come.

 

Rose Garden Stock Exchange

The members of the Research Group consider it important to promote their work and the Rose Garden. Therefore, a series of events will begin in the fall of 2022, which we would like to organize every year in the spring and autumn. In 2022, our first event will be launched under the name Rózsakerti Börze with professional presentations, a plant fair and a craft fair. With the invited speakers, we also want to strengthen the relationship between MATE and the profession.

 

October 22-23, 2022 - Rose Garden Exchange in Budatetény Rose Garden

October 22-23, 2022 was organized by the MATE Institute of Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Ornamental Gardening and Herman Ottó Intézet NKft. organized by the Rózsakerti Börze in the Budatetény Rose Garden. At the event, institute director Dr. Albert Fekete and Dr. László Orlóci held public information about the Rose Garden.

Afterwards, those interested could hear professional presentations: Dr. Gábor Boronkay presented special varieties of roses, and then Károly András, the president of the National Association of Gardeners, spoke about their activities. Dr. László Orlóci presented the 'Green Cities in Europe' movement in his presentation.

 

At the fair, members of the Research Group sold fruit tree cuttings and rose stems, but many organizations and entrepreneurs were represented: several Garden Friendly Communities, the National Rural Network, the Hérosz Animal Shelter, the TulipGarden had a place, and those interested could browse and buy among the many ornamental plant stands and handicraft stands. TTDI would like to organize the Rose Garden Exchange twice a year in the future, thereby promoting the Rose Garden.
